Abstract: The project “Creating a Sustainable Sugarcane Industry in Northern Belize” seeks to improve the capabilities, competitiveness and productivity of small-scale farmers in Northern Belize through the design and implementation of a dedicated extension services and diffusion of new productivity enhancing technologies, while improving coordination among key stakeholders including the three associations.

The Sugar Industry Research and Development Institute has received funding from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) / Multi-Lateral Investment Fund (MIF) towards the Creation of a Sustainable Sugarcane Industry in Northern Belize through the design and implementation of a dedicated extension service and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultancy services.

In order to successfully execute the project, the Sugar Industry Research & Development Institute (SIRDI) requires the services of a Mid-Term Evaluation Consultancy. The consultant will conduct the evaluation of the IDB/MIF project and produce a report within a period of 30 working days.

Shortlist shall comprise six firms with a wide geographic spread, with no more than two firms from any one country or the shortlist may compromise entirely national consultants.

The Consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Inter-American Development Bank: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank GN-2350-9, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the policies.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the QCNI selection method set out in the Consultant Policies.
